Really enjoyed this exercise. Also funny coincidence, right after finishing this I started listening to the "Smartless" podcast and Jeff Tweedy was the surprise guest. Universe was aligned, I guess!

Your face fades as I compare yesterday and today.

Sew now and judge later

The computer smells like it is burning

I listen to my father who is unseen

Cut a picture of the keyboard from the magazine

Map the diagnosis from the symptoms

Visualize chairs on the ceiling

I see my son when I close my eyes

I hear the stereo in my dreams

The blood pressure monitor observes high blood pressure.

Amazing result! Favorite line "Sew now and judge later" I like how you are playful with language.

Wiping lipstick from the old plastic cup

is a tear dripping behind my glasses?

no. my eyes are dry from the exhaust fan

dry like tree bark

falling like a pile of books

smearing pages of unread words

outlining the velvet settee

The cracking of the radiator

highlights a tangle of chords

Reflections: I LOVED this because I get stuck with writing and this immediately eliminated the empty page issue in a way that was very useful. First I had to explore my inner world imagining the action words and then I became more observant of my environment by listing nouns. Great recipe for a creative moment!!

Love both of these! Also I know it's a little confusing as we all get used to Substack but would appreciate if in coming days you can post these in the chat: https://substack.com/chat/
