This Week's Messier Moments: February 5
It's been a rainy week; let's get Messier with some reflections on water
It’s been amazing, if sometimes a little scary, to get rain here in California. Watching all this water fall from the sky has us thinking about the power and centrality of the wet stuff. This week, a few ways to meditate on the molecule that makes up 75% of your brain:
Favorite water memory: Think of a favorite time having to do with water (a rain walk with kids, a kayak trip, a snowball fight) and take 5-10 minutes to write about it.
Snowflake: Look at some pictures of snowflakes. For a moment, try to put aside all the snowflake imagery, the millennial jokes, the Frozen movies, etc., and just notice how stunning they are. Draw one, or a few.
Hydrological Cycle: Spend 5-10 minutes cartooning or writing the lifecycle of a drop of water. When it’s in the clouds, what does it see down below? What does it fall into on land? What’s its favorite and least favorite part of the cycle?
We’re always eager to hear how it’s going! Don’t be shy, let us know at hello@messier.co.
Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty.
