This Week's Messier Moments: December 4
AIAIAIAIAIAIAIAIAIAIAIAI! The robots are coming for you. Or are they?
We’re all hearing a lot about AI. Particularly here in the Bay Area. Will it be a tool to set us free? Will it be our new overlord? We don’t have the answers. But there is no question AI will change what it means to be creative. We believe human creativity will remain special, and computers will continue to help humans create.
Here are a few animal-themed Messier Moments for the week:
Turing conversation: Imagine a future in which AIs and humans live side-by-side. Write a letter from the human perspective to explain whatever you think AIs should know about us.
AI dream: Draw a picture that you think an AI might dream of. It’s ok to include electric sheep.
AI writing partner: Use a Gen. AI like Chat GPT to help you write a 10 line poem about a future in which humans and AIs exist. Write a line, then put it into the chatbot prompt, and tell the AI, “give me 10 possible lines that respond to and rhyme with this line.” Repeat five times.
We’re always eager to hear how it’s going! Don’t be shy, let us know at hello@messier.co.
P.S. We need your help to build the Messier app! We’re doing our first-ever fundraise next week. Please join us, and invite anyone who might be interested in investing. Full invite here:
As many of you know, over the past couple of years I’ve been diving deep into how we can use technology to help people bring more creativity into their lives. The idea has become Messier (as in “this might get messy”). I’ve been lucky to attract an incredible team, including some of the world’s leading creativity researchers and product designers.
So far, we’ve been entirely bootstrapped (including many months of design work from my co-founder’s design studio to design the first app.) But to bring this product to the world we’ll need to raise some capital. I’m writing to invite you to be one of Messier’s first investors. This is an opportunity to make a potentially lucrative investment in a product you can be proud of.
We’ll host two investor presentations in December so you can choose the one that works best for you:
Monday, December 11, noon PT / 3pm ET (registration link)
Thursday, December 14, 9a PT / noon ET (registration link)
Please register asap and circulate this email widely!
All best,
Josh and the Messier team
Art is, now, mainly a form of thinking.
