What will I need?
A page or sheet of paper
Jar lids, quarters, or any other round objects for tracing
Drawing or coloring tools (pencils, markers, crayons, etc.)
Steps:
Using your round objects, trace 12 circles onto the page. They can be the same size or different sizes based on what you have on hand.
Once you have your circles, start filling them in. You can create patterns, doodles, or even tiny scenes inside each circle.
Want to keep going?
Try limiting yourself to a certain color palette and see how it influences your designs.
Try it again but with a different shape, like triangles or ovals.
Do it on a bigger page with 100 circles.
Help! I'm stuck!
If you're unsure what to draw, start with simple shapes or patterns and let them evolve.
You can also take inspiration from things around you, or use the circles as frames for tiny scenes.
Remember, there's no right or wrong here. Just let your creativity flow.
What's the science?
Drawing offers clear psychological wellbeing benefits. Drake, J. E. (2019).
